Recognition Opportunities

Roanoke Circle

Roanoke College recognizes and honors its most generous benefactors—those with a cumulative giving level of one million dollars or more—with membership in the Roanoke Circle. These members distinguish themselves as leaders through their shared passion for Roanoke College. Their commitment has influenced the life and future of the College and has had multi-generational impact upon its students.

Society of 1842

The Society of 1842 recognizes those who name Roanoke College as a beneficiary of bequests, charitable trusts, life insurance policies, charitable gift annuities, retained life estates and other planned and deferred gifts. Members are recognized through special events and communications.

Associates

Individuals, corporations and foundations who make annual gifts to Roanoke College of at least $1,000 are recognized through the Associates program. Associates are recognized throughout the year through special events and programs.

Young Associates

Alumni who graduated within the last decade have an opportunity to support Roanoke at graduated levels—first year out $100, second year out $200, and so forth—and be recognized as Young Associates. Young Associates enjoy networking and mentoring opportunities with emerging and established business and community leaders.

Maroon Club

The Maroon Club offers alumni, parents and friends of Roanoke College student-athletes the opportunity to support the winning tradition of the Maroons. Memberships start at $100, and membership benefits grow relative to the membership level. Member benefits may include invitations to Maroon Club events, recognition in Roanoke College publications, a Maroon Club decal and the pride in knowing that you are part of the teams’ success.

Heritage Walk

The College recognizes Associates who give undesignated cash gifts of $5,000 in a single year with personalized and dated pavers laid throughout the Heritage Walk. The distinctive walk rises from College Avenue to meet the prestigious Founders Circle. The brick pavers in the Heritage Walk are permanent symbols of your investment in Roanoke College.

Founders Circle

Those who support the Roanoke Fund with undesignated gifts of $10,000 or more in a single year receive an inscribed brick paver inside the Founders Circle, located in front of the historic Administration Building and at the crown of the Heritage Walk. The brick pavers at the Founders Circle are permanent symbols of your investment in Roanoke College.

Marion Ideal Legacy Society

With a gift of $1,000 or more, Marion College alumni are recognized as members of the Marion Ideal Legacy Society. Gifts to the society currently benefit the Marion Endowment for the Arts. By giving to the endowment, your support makes it possible to provide current Roanoke College students the same life-changing experiences you enjoyed at Marion College.
